- An ophthalmologist since 1996, following his training in general medicine.
- Specialist in the fields of cornea, refractive laser surgery and oculoplastic surgery, trained at McGill University (Canada) and the Escola Paulista de Medicina (Brazil).

- Corneal transplants
- Cross-linking (UV + Riboflavine)
- Intracorneal rings (ICRS) – a technique introduced in Belgium by Dr A. Chaves (since 2005)
- Excimer Laser Refractive Surgery: LASIK (since 1998)
- Intraocular refractive implants for the correction of cataracts, short-sightedness, long-sightedness and astigmatism
- Functional eyelid surgery and cosmetic blepharoplasty
